I like your blog; from what little I have seen.

I read part of the 'item' on ATP and CFS. I've never seen anything about ATP/CFS, but I have thought much about mitochondrondria and CFS. Had an professor taunt me, in college- for asking if a disease could impair the ribosomes in the cells from producing ATP.

"A meterorite would come down and infect all of our 'rough endoplasmic reticulum' and we would have damaged mitochondria. The disease would spread across the globe. Would make a great TV movie of the week." (paraphrased the prof taunting me in class; it has been years and my memory is poor.)

I'm going to have to come back when I'm feeling more clear headed, and read the whole ATP item.

I hope that your 'good days' outnumber your 'bad days'.

Thank you Anonymous, Here's looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

Yesterday, I stopped taking the vitamins and feel better for it. Tomorrow, I'll start with one a day and build up over the week to see if one particular vitamin is not agreeing with me.

Also, at the moment, I am conferring with a friend about Dr Myhill's suggested treatment (see earlier post here below) and will talk to my GP about it when he visits next week. I'm not into trying snake oils and wasting energy chasing rainbows but it is difficult to argue against what Dr Myhill writes in her latest paper, so I feel her advice is worth taking.

Ingrid,
Fish Oil and Vitamin D supplements can make CFS symptoms worse. I know fish oil always made me feel sicker so stopped taking them, even though they are supposed to be good for people. Years after I stopped taking them, I read Dr. Trevor Marshall's Theory, and he believes both of those things are contraindicated for CFS patients, and that part of our symptoms are from a Dysregulation of Vitamin D metabolism leading to too high levels of Vitamin D 1,25. (Hypervitamindiosis) I had mine tested and, yes they off. The d-25 was too low, but the D 1,25 was too high. Docs may only test for the D-25 and if low think you need more Vitamin D, but it is only a precursor to D 1,25, so in reality the body is converting D 25 quickly to D 1,25, which does cause symptoms. Anyway, it's more complicated than that, but just thinking of you taking fish oil supplements makes me shiver.
